A simple, swingy rhyme, with a gap for a chosen under-sea item – fish? treasure? submarine?, seahorse? – and accompanying describing word. The verse can be repeated as many times as you like, with different words to fill the two gaps provided. Suggestions are offered in the guidance notes for use, below the poem.

The rhyme can be enacted, clapped, tapped and sung, and also presented with sound effects of the sea, swaying movements and other atmospheric embellishments. The rhyme will also inspire developments, such as drawing and writing about under the sea. See my under-sea writing frame, for instance. You may also like my shells writing and rhyme resources.
